Charlottesville, Virginia, is located in picturesque Albemarle County in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The town is known as the site of Monticello, the home of President Thomas Jefferson, and our new homes in Charlottesville are also near the birthplaces of Presidents James Madison and James Monroe. The region has a strong agricultural legacy as well. Organic crops, free-range chickens and wineries dot the area, and our local Charlottesville real estate are near gorgeous stretches of pastoral land. Residents enjoy an outstanding quality of life surrounded by rolling hills, a thriving arts community, and excellent amenities including restaurants and entertainment. There are also many nationally known employers in the area, such as the esteemed University of Virginia.
Both Lumosity and The Atlantic's Cities publication cited Charlottesville as the "brainiest" city in the United States in 2012. In addition to providing a home for the state university, the town hosts the annual Virginia Film Festival, the Charlottesville Festival of the Photograph and the Virginia Festival of the Book. Charlottesville is home to the Dave Matthews Band and the center of a vibrant Indie music scene. Our new home constructions in Charlottesville are also near the historic downtown area that features the Downtown Mall, a long pedestrian area encompassing stores, restaurants and theaters. The Virginia Discovery Museum and a huge outdoor amphitheater are also downtown, along with historic structures that go back to the city's 1762 origin. Shenandoah National Park is nearby, offering a scenic drive winding through thickly forested areas punctuated by panoramic overlooks.
